The 14th Dalai Lama, receives the Title of Honour Patron of Humanity award presented by WHD


The 14th Dalai Lama, the highest spiritual leader of Tibet, considered a living buddha receives the Title of Honour “Patron of Humanity” award presented by “World Humanitarian Drive (WHD)”.WHD is an International NGO with a vision to promote Peace, Education and Trade Harmony in the world. WHD partnership organization “Universal Peace Federation” holds a General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is the highest status granted by the United Nations to non-governmental organizations (NGO’s), thereby allowing them to participate in the work of the United Nations.

WHD Board of Directors unanimously announced and presented this honour for His Holiness’s lifetime achievements in serving humanity and in acknowledgement of His Holiness humanitarian service to mankind by contributing for harmonious solutions in trying to help individuals achieve peace of mind.

“Patron of Humanity” is the highest title, awarded by WHD in recognition for humanitarian services rendered to guide, support and inspire as a global leader. This is the most prestigious award globally in the humanitarian field and so far presented only to current or former Head of State by WHD. Previous recipients of this Title include HE Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona SC ORTT – 5th President of Trinidad & Tobago; HE Madhav Kumar Nepal – 34th Prime Minster of Nepal; HE Fatmir Sejdiu, 1st President of Kosovo.

The Founder Chairman of WHD, Dr. Abdul Basit Syed, stated “We are humbled and honoured to be presenting this prestigious title to His Holiness which will surely boost up the morale wellbeing and spread positivity to all world leaders to work for peace by strengthening cooperation and stability in this world.”

It is also promising to note that Padmabhusan Brig Dr Anil Kohli, Former Head of Indian Dental Council has been appointed newly as the Secretary General of WHD India. We are sure his contribution to the global movement of WHD in building peace, education and trade harmony initiatives will be distinguished.
