Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal complained about a sore throat and also developed a mild fever on Sunday afternoon. Since then he went into self-quarantine. The CM will undergo COVID-19 test on Tuesday. CM Kejriwal is diabetic and takes insulin with some other medications.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said, “As the Chief Minister is unwell, he has gone into self-isolation. He has a sore throat and cough. He will get himself tested COVID-19 tomorrow” while briefing the media online on Monday.
Kejriwal was held a cabinet meeting at his residence on Sunday morning. The meeting was attended by ministers like Sisodia, Environment minister Gopal Rai, Health minister Satyender Jain along with Chief Secretary Vijay Dev. He cancelled his official’s meetings later that day.
Since two months, CM Kejriwal has been holding all his meetings through video conferencing but visited Delhi’s LG’s office for only important work. A meeting was held at LG’s office on June 2.
There are 29,000 Coronavirus cases reported in Delhi, 3rd highest in the country after Maharashtra(85,975) and Tamil Nadu(30,152). Almost 10,999 patients have recovered in the capital while there are 17,125 active coronavirus cases yet.
