Assam Flood Situation Worsens, 7 lakh people Affected
The flood in Assam caused due to heavy rainfall have affected around 7 Lakh people till now in 17 districts of Assam. The National Disaster Relief Force along with State Disaster Relief force and State administration are working in full force to handle the current situation.
Around 7 lakh people along with 8,00,000 cattle have been affected due to massive floods in the state of Assam. The Indian Meteorological Department predicted heavy rainfall in few districts of Assam. Almost 17 districts have been affected and around 4800 people are staying in 62 relief centers across the state.
However, the flood situation has improved in Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Bongaigaon, Hojai, Udalguri, Majuli and West Karbi Anglong districts.
In this pandemic situation, Assam is also facing rising cases of COVID-19 daily. Guwahati has seen the most case rise in a single day and state government is worried cause guwahati have already entered community transmission stage, Assam’s Health Minister Hemant Biswasharma said the other day.
The Assam government has also ordered most of the departments to shut their offices in the state secretariat complex and work from field units and directorates for a week after four employees working there tested positive for COVID-19.
